Myoglobin (Mb) can be detected in serum within 1-2 hours after the onset of chest pain, peaks in 4-12 hours, and returns to normal levels after 24 hours. Detection of serum Mb content can be used as an important indicator to diagnose acute myocardial infarction and observe successful reperfusion after thrombolytic therapy.
