In the early stage of acute myocardial infarction (AMI), due to the sensitivity of cardiomyocytes to ischemia and hypoxia and fatty acids are mobilized to provide energy, which will lead to a large increase of H-FABP in cardiomyocytes. because of small molecular weight, H-FABP can be quickly released into the peripheral blood, so it can be used as an auxiliary diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction.
