＜0.5 No or mild systemic inflammation.
May be local inflammation or local infection		 It is recommended to find infection or other causes of  PCT increased
0.5~2 Moderate systemic inflammation. There may be an infection or other conditions, such as severe trauma, major surgery, cardiogenic shock It is recommended to look for possible infection factors. If infection is found, it is recommended to review the PCT after 6-24h
2~10 It is likely to be sepsis, severe sepsis, or septic shock. There is a high risk of organ dysfunction. It is recommended that  review the PCT daily. If PCT level continues to be high (>4d): reconsider sepsis treatment options.
≥10 It is almost always severe bacterial sepsis or septic shock. It is often accompanied by organ failure and has a high risk of death. It is recommended to test PCT daily to evaluate the treatment effect.
