S100β protein is specifically secreted by brain glial cells and is significantly increased in the blood or cerebrospinal fluid of patients with brain damage, cerebrovascular disease, central nervous system inflammation. S100β has important clinical value in diagnosis and prognosis assessment of cerebrovascular disease and central nervous system inflammation.
